Dear Parents/ Guardians & Families: Its incredible how fast time flies, we have less than 40 days of teaching and learning here at IS 339.  It’s very important for your child to keep attending school.  By making school attendance a priority we will be able to assist your children with learning the meaning of hard work and how study habits that will serve them currently and throughout their lives.  Attendance is extremely important.  Your child cannot learn if they are not here each and every day.  If you get a phone call from our school messenger, please realize that we want to make sure that you are aware of the student’s absence or lateness.  It is our goal to work with you and make sure that your child is in school every day. 8th grade parents have 36 days until the graduation ceremony and time is running out to pay for your child’s senior dues.  It’s a beautiful experience and we don’t want your child to miss it.  If you have any questions, or would like any additional information, feel free to contact Ms. Cruz (718) 583-6767 ext 3180. Dear Parents/ Guardians & Families:       Happy New Year!We are excited and eager to kick off the new year in our building and get back to our routine.  We want to keep the focus on learning and setting goals for the 2nd half of the year.  Together we will prepare our students/children to compete in this ever-changing world.  We here at IS 339 wish you a flourishing and successful year. It’s the start of a new year and nearly the halfway point in this school year.  So it’s a good time to take stock and make any needed adjustments. How can they make the rest of the school year even better? Parents it’s very important to spend time reading.  We are raising the bar, making sure that all our students are reading for 45 minutes everyday at home.  There is no skill that will help your child more in school.  Reading like other skills gets better with practice.  Encourage your child to read, and…
