Dear Parents/ Guardians & Families: Well, June is finally here and all the hard work  is about to pay off.  Congratulations to all the parents of the graduating class of 2013.   As we end this scholastic year I would like to thank everyone that attended all the parent association meetings throughout the school year.  It is with great pleasure that I find myself enjoying my career more and more each and every day because of you. I have had the honor of working with some pretty terrific women and men this year.  We had a great forum for fathers that took place on May 16th, where more than 70 fathers showed up to support the school.  At the forum we elaborated on family issues, obstacles and father support. IS 339 is planning on having a father forum on a monthly basis beginning in September 2013. Our IS 339 Family would like to invite you all to our second Family day event on June 22, 2013 from 10am to 4pm in our wonderful school yard.  Next year we will do so much more.  Our goal here at IS 339 is to create an extended family. Together we will see our children…

It seems like every time I sit down to write my parent newsletter I say to myself, I can’t believe how fast the year is going. As we all know, December is here and with that comes the holiday season. My hope is that you enjoy time with your family and friends, and you are able to rest and take in this special time of year. During the month of November, we had a number of successful things happen at the school. Our first marking period ended on November 2nd. On November 20th, we had parent-teacher conferences, which gave parents and teachers the opportunity to meet and discuss their child performance.
