It seems like every time I sit down to write my parent newsletter I say to myself, I can’t believe how fast the year is going. As we all know, December is here and with that comes the holiday season. My hope is that you enjoy time with your family and friends, and you are able to rest and take in this special time of year. During the month of November, we had a number of successful things happen at the school. Our first marking period ended on November 2nd. On November 20th, we had parent-teacher conferences, which gave parents and teachers the opportunity to meet and discuss their child performance.
Dear Parents/Guardians & Families: November is here and it is report card time already. Tuesday, November 20th is Parent-Teacher Conference Day. The conferences will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and 5:00pm to 7:30pm. All students will be dismissed at 11:50am. Please arrange for your child to be picked up at that time since the staff members must have lunch and prepare for the afternoon conferences. Report cards will be distributed at these conferences. No report cards will be sent home with students. You must have a meeting with your child's teacher to receive his or her report card.
Have you received a phone call from our School Messenger?  Each day, we make an effort to call the home of any student who is absent from one or more classes.  Attendance is extremely important.  Your child cannot learn if they are not here each and every day.  If you get this phone call, please realize that we want to make sure that you are aware of the student’s absence.  It is our goal to work with you on making sure that your child is in school.  A student can only miss 10 days throughout the entire year in order get promoted to the next grade.  Please help us focus on the importance of being in class everyday.
Dear Parents/Guardians & Families: Welcome Back!  We are excited and looking forward to building a strong relationship that will last for years to come.  We are dedicated to developing high achieving students of good character.  Our foundation of values include academic achievement, community, citizenship, insightful living, and self respect.  All of these key elements are essential in having a productive life.  It is our belief that every child has a right to a fair and equitable education, therefore we welcome you into our extended family.  Together we will prepare our students/children to compete in this ever-changing world.  They will attain their goals and dreams.  We here at IS 339 wish you a flourishing and successful year.  If you have any questions, please contact us.  It is our pleasure to serve you in any of your educational needs. Dear Parents/Guardians and Caregivers:Welcome all of our students to a new and exciting school year 2012-2013. As your principal, I look forward to a wonderful start for everyone. Beginnings are always refreshing and exciting; that's what makes us look forward to the opening of a new year. I truly enjoy all of the news and activities that middle school brings and this year is no different.  Our school community is vibrant and we have so much to offer our students and their families.
